The Tung and Shirley Chan “Ji Shen” Fund

積 善

The Tung and Shirley Chan “Ji Shen” Fund is administered by the Vancouver Foundation. The words “Ji Shen” (characters shown above) in Chinese mean “accumulation of Good Deeds.”  The purpose of the Fund is to assist charitable organizations for general charitable purposes in conformity with the objects of Vancouver Foundation.

This fund was set up in March 1998 as one of the Start-up Funds of the Vancouver Foundation.  The source of the Fund has primary been incomes earned by Tung in his extra curricula activities such as his director fees at E-Comm and Kwantlen University College, publication fees for his articles in the Vancouver Sun, Talk show host fees at local Chinese language radio stations and program host fee for the “One minute English” program at AM1320.

To-date we have made grants to the following charities from incomes generated from the Fund: The Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Vancouver, The Richmond Public Library, The Vancouver Summer Festival and a bursary at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Over the years many friends and colleagues have also contributed to the Fund.  If you would like to join Shirley and I in the accumulation of good deeds, we will gladly accept your donations to the “Ji Shen” Fund.  A receipt for income tax purposes will be issued to you by the Vancouver Foundation.  Please mail your donations to:
